Perfect location on harbourside, close to cn tower and skydome. Good size for family of four. Wonderful view across Lake Ontario. Well appointed appartment. Laundry facilities. Parking available, but need to book in advance as there are spaces allocated for each appartment and this is not made very clear.
Communication with Glen Grove is limited. Parking has to be arranged in advance - something that is not mentioned when booking. It is really difficult to find if you have not been here before, as it is in a private apartment block at Maple Leaf Quay, tucked away in the corner of the quay next to the little convenience store. Do not look for 'Glen Grove' sign - there is none. The security guard for the appartment block has the key and the laundry card which you need to top up at the machine in the lobby.
Very good location, nice environment, clean and perfect facilities. A convenience store, and Shoppers drug mart is in the same building. Near by everything on the harbor front; simply a perfect location
It's not a hotel, it's more like a hotel appartments. Don't expect to find a hotel service although most of the required facilities is available.
Decent rate, 6 of us stayed in a 2 bedroom "suite" which included 2 double beds and a pull out couch.
room wasnt clean, also you have no help from staff if you need extra towels etc.. The place is a bit run down and carpets smelled of urine. if you go with aa group of 6 people and arent planning on being in the room alot then this place is ideal. But this place wasnt special at all.
Location was excellent. View from the room was great. Fairly spacious room to accommodate 5 people with 2 queen beds and sofa sleeper. Rooms and linen were clean except for some stains on the carpet and scuffed walls.
Room did not have enough linen for 5 and despite 2 calls not able to get extra linen. Internet access did not work in the room but unsecured network was available nearby. There were no paper towels in the kitchen. There were no extra trash bags. Air conditioner was very noisy but did work. There was no dishwasher soap. It would have been nice to have clearer directions to find the check in desk.
Apartments location was excellent - very near the cn Tower, harbourfront. On a streetcar route. Good value for money - nice size apartment for Toronto at a good price.
The front desk staff is a security guard - the man we interacted with had no customer service skills and played with his phone while we checked in. He also shared personal stories I would prefer he keep to himself. It is not a standarad hotel - no maid service, concierge etc. Its a small apartment rented out - which is fine for me, but be aware it is not a hotel. Luxury apartments might be pushing the description. Adequate with good value is a fair description.
Price, location, and ability to eat some meals in were great.
Condo was a bit run down, but was fine. "concierge" desk personnel were next to useless, not terribly helpful and not very pleasant. But they are essentially just the building's security, so not really there to cater to the needs of short-term renters. Overall the stay was fine, but you need to remember it's not a hotel, you're renting someone's condo, so the services are not to be expected.
Excellent room sizes, very well equipped full size kitchen, with 4 seat dining table, free WIFI, great welcome pack including washing powder and washing up liquid. Convenience shop on ground floor. Within minutes walking distance to CN tower and Rogers Centre, rest of downtown Toronto walk-able by a 9 year old. Right on the water front. All in all fantastic. Would def. stay again. One point to note, not really easy to find, as not a hotel - its more of an apartment block with a security guard rather than a reception..
Good location and the view was nice. Also, I was able to find an internet connection that was not password protected - although it was not provided by the hotel. It was less expensive than other hotels, but not worth the cost.
We tried to save a few bucks on hotel costs, which we did, but it was not a pleasant experience. Next time I'll pay a few hundred extra and stay in the convention hotel. The tub drain was clogged with hair, the walls were marked from furniture moving, the drawers in the kitchen were broken, the blinds did not open, the layout of the place was strange, with a mini office area that had not light fixtures! No one could explain how to activate the in room internet access. There is an office in the building that handles long-term rental (Maple Leaf), but that was not associated with "Glen Grove".
We went to Toronto for our daughter's wedding. The location was extremely convenient, as she lived in the building! The suite was large enough to have family members from Greece stay with us. Loved the view from the suite. Air conditioning worked fine. Loved the layout and design of the suite. Beds were very comfortable.
The security staff at the desk in the lobby were generally unhelpful and even rude to us. The Glen Grove website showed that there was a pool table and a golf game, but we were unable to access these facilities. When we arrived, the suite was not very clean, and some minor things needed to be repaired, such as a handle on the one of the drawers. We couldn't find a frying pan in the kitchen. The fridge froze our watermelon!
The apartment was located close to downtown Toronto. That's everything that was good about it.
First and most importantly, Glengrove at Mapleleaf is not a hotel. It's a few run down apartments in a block owned by a management company. There are no signs and so it's very hard to work out what is going on and where you are meant to be. When you arrive you are given a pack of keys by the security guard and from there on out you're on your own. Which is a shame because they gave us the wrong keys and a parking space which doesn't exist. We were double charged for parking because they refused to honour the price quotes on Booked.net. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned and neither had any of the bedding or towels. Perhaps that's because we only stayed one night and they couldn't be bothered? Who knows. Their staff are incredibly unhelpful, we had to call for the wi-fi password and were initially given the wrong one. We had to call them four times to get everything sorted and each call was more frustrating that the last. On top of all of this it's very expensive. Save your money and go elsewhere!
location as we were there for blue jay games.
everything else - air conditioner didn't work and was very noisy even after the maintenance staff came to fix it. Couldn't shower until we had the taps repaired which held us up our very first morning! Holes in all the screens. Many humongous stains on all the carpets. Walls were filthy with stuff splashed on them from previous occupants. General poor maintenance overall. Security staff were unfriendly at best, border line rude.
What we liked most about Glengrove at Maple Leaf was the day we left .It didnt come fast enough. However after reading other reviews about mould and other dirt issues we should count ourselves lucky that we only froze to death.
Just about everything. It had few redeeming features except location. It was a miserable start to a month long holiday in accommodation that was old, falling down with no staff to assist; no care that the air conditioning was not working and there were insufficent blankets or pillows or towels initially for 3 people as requested. When we arrived the fold up bed had soiled linen on it, the kitchen cupboards were falling apart and the doors couldnt close and the "assistance number" was of little assistance. It took 4 days to get a response and then it was a defensive "what do you expect for the money" approach. Our return to the city a week later and a stay at the Fairmont resored our faith in Toronto. The cost was reasonable if it had been billed as 2 star or less, not as 'luxury'.
The accommodations were awesome! We had so much room in our suite and they provided everything we needed! The security at the front entrance were very helpful and friendly. After reading all the previous reviews we really weren't expecting much. We honestly cannot understand where all the bad reviews were coming from. The room was clean, spacious and well cared for. Yes, the lamps didn't match in the bedroom and one bulb was burnt out in the bathroom, but that is just nitpicking as far as we were concerned. From the moment we arrived, we were thrilled. Add this to the fact that you are a five minute walk from the Rogers Centre and cn Tower and twenty minutes from the Hockey Hall of Fame, you couldn't ask for a better location. Everything you need is within walking distance and the city is so safe.
Not a single thing!
location and rooms...kitchen lovely and suited our needs
room was cold...could not adjust heat
We rented a two bedroom apartment for three children (2 months to 6 years) and four adults. With the sofa bed in the lounge we were able to fit in comfortably. The extra space in the small study was quite welcome, too.The location was really great as it was right on the waterfront and only a few minutes walk from cn Tower, The Rogers Center and the Round House Train Park and about ten minutes walk from the main station. The facilities were excellent - basic equipment (linen, kitchen utensils, washing materials) were well supplied and there was a well provisioned supermarket downstairs and a large drug store close by.
The only thing we weren't happy about was the state of the blinds. We had an excellent view from the apartment (of the cn Tower and Rogers Center, and the Lake) however all vertical blinds were missing slats (7 missing from the second bedroom alone). This meant that the apartment got quite warm during the day - not amajor problem when we stayed because the weather was cool - but would be a problem in summer. It was also a problem at night because bright lights from surrounding buildings shone into the rooms.
